Description
ARAB-SASANIAN. Bishapur series. Æ (1.12 gm; 20 mm). Obverse; Byzantine style bust facing forward, to the right phrase Apzuti (may Increase) and to the left GDH (Greatness), on the margin on the second quarter, name “Yazid” which is very deteriorated given the conditions, reverse; “Shapur” written in Arabic on the left (mint: Bishapur) and AASHTAT (year 80) on the left. Among the highest rarities in Arab Sasanian series, Gyselen Type 9. Nice original brown patina. Elegant style. Choice EF. Rare.
