ISLAMIC EARLY KUFIC, Ca. 8th-10th Century AD. Seal Ring (0.94 gm; 20 mm x 15mm). Kufic/Arabic: top line: “Bin” followed by “Mohamad”, followed by “bin” and “Mohamad written in mirror image”, name : bin Mohamad ibn Mohamad. Very fascinating piece and unique as reading the seal impression and the seal itself provides the name of the owner. Another interesting feature of this seal is the image of “wheat branch” intertwined with the name Mohamad which might have dual meaning of “Mohamad the bread winner” or “having faith in Prophet Mohamad shall provide the bread for life”. Extremely rare.Excellent condition.
