SASANIAN KINGS. Hormizd II (302-309 AD). Silver Obol (0.48 gm; 14 mm). Hormizd's bust with eagle / winged standard crown turning right, group of triple dots on korimbos,reverse, fire altar with a large dot with attendants, figure in the fire altar possibly facing forward, Attendant to the left with Hormizd's crown and the one on the right with Shapur I crown, Superb style, Extremely rare with mint abbreviation. Most mint abbreviations of Hormizd II appear at the bottom of fire altar. Sunrise 823. Partially chipped. Lovely strike. Choice EF. Toned.
