THESSALONICA. JOHN Commenus-Ducas. As Despot, 1242-1244. Billon Trachy (12mm - 0.58 g). Fleur-de-lis / Patriarchal cross, pellet after each end, annulet in lower left field . SB -; DOC -; Penchev, "A hoard of copper (billon) scyphati from the first half of the 13th century found near Petrich," 978-985. Fine/VF, dark brown patina. Very Rare.
