Lucania, Metapontion. Ca. 330-290 B.C. AR nomos (18 mm, 7.68 g, 3 h). Head of Demeter facing slightly right, wearing grain ear wreath, triple-pendant earrings, and necklace; to lower right, tiny A[Π] / META, barley ear with leaf to right; above leaf, bucranium; below leaf, AΘA. Johnston Class C, 2.3 (same dies); SNG ANS 463-4; SNG Copenhagen 220 (same die); HN Italy 1584. Old collection toning. Choice very fine.
