Seleukid Kingdom. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 B.C. Fourrée tetradrachm (27 mm, 14.77 g, 6 h). Contemporary imitation. Copying Susa, ca. 305/4-295 B.C. Head of hero (Alexander or Seleukos?) right, wearing helmet covered with panther's skin and adorned with the ear and horns of a bull / BAΣΛEΩ- (sic) ΣEΛEYKOY, Nike standing right, crowning with wreath trophy before her; in lower outer left and central fields, monograms. Cf. SC 173.5a; cf. HGC 9, 20. Lightly toned and light depostis. Aramaic(?) graffiti in obverse field before face, cleaning scratches. Extremely fine.
