Description
Eastern Europe, Imitating Thasos. Late 2nd-1st centuries B.C. AR tetradrachm (32 mm, 16.25 g, 12 h). Wreathed head of youthful Dionysos right / ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ ΘΑΣΙΩΝ, Herakles standing facing, head left, holding grounded club, lion's skin draped over arm; in inner left field, MH monogram. Kostial 956-8; OTA class I; CCCBM I 220-1. Toned, cleaning marks on obverse. Nearly very fine.
