Description
England. Elizabeth I. 1558-1603. AR sixpence (25 mm, 2.74 g, 2 h). London, 1572 (2 over inverted 2). Initial mark: ermine (with three tails). Crowned bust of Elizabeth I left; behind, rose / Arms over long cross fourchée; above, date. North 1997; SCBC 2562. Slightly dented and scratched, but still attractive. Interesting over-date mint error. Very fine.
Purchased by the consignor from Picospoko, 2010.
