Description

KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'The Great'. 336-323 BC. Fourré Tetradrachm (26mm - 14.89 g). "Magnesia ad Maeandrum" mint. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle in right hand, scepter in left; monogram before, monogram under throne. Cf. Price 1970 (drachm with same monograms). Near EF, a few breaks in the plating.

Price doesn't record this monogram combination on a tetradrachm. Does this Fourré provide evidence for an issue that doesn't survive today?
