Lot 351: ANTIQUITIES. A nice Etruscan Bucchero Kantharos

A nice Etruscan Bucchero Kantharos, Italic, c. 625 - 550 BC, the low pedestal foot, the walls of the bowl angled outward with sharp carination containing shallow ridges and internal groove. Two tall loop handles tower above the rim. A lovely example with nicely burnished surfaces. H: 6” (15.2 cm); W: 8 5/8” (21.8 cm). Some restoration to edge of foot, otherwise intact with some earthen deposits. A very handsome example of this iconic bucchero shape. Ex Orange County private collection. Value range: $800-1000.
