Description

A Greek black ware plate and a Daunian shallow bowl. The first is a small Greek black ware plate, Magnia Graecia, 4th Century BC, with low pedestal foot and raised rim. At center is an impressed flower, seen from the side. Repaired, minor restoration, Dia: 5 ¼” (13.4 cm). The second is a Daunian shallow bowl, c. 5th Century BC, decorated with concentric banding in orange, crème and brown slip. The rim is decorated with two incised grooves, two holes for suspension, flat disk base. Dia: 7 ½” (19.1 cm). Repaired with rim chip. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value range: $400-$500.
