Description

Two Syrian Seals and a Roman Intaglio. The first is a large rectangular type, c. Early 4th Millennium BC, with gabled top, on the base a horned antelope facing to left, 41 x 42mm, some edge chipping. The second is a black steatite cylinder seal, c. 2nd Millennium BC, the design consisting of a band containing stylized star motif within a square, textured borders above and below, H: 17mm; The third items is a carnelian intaglio with standing Herakles, holding club and lion’s skin, 11 x 8mm; also included is a carnelian faceted bead, Near Eastern, 1st Millennium BC, L: 16mm. Intact. Four items in the lot! Ex Northern California private collection. Value range: $300-$400.
