Description

A set of Chimu silver uncas from Peru, c. 1100 - 1450 AD. These rare silver ornaments with repoussé designs were used to decorate the mantles of the elite. There are a total of 14, the large rectangular pieces range from 2-1/2" to 3-3/4" in length, the round ones are 2-1/4" in diameter and the small ones are 1-1/4" long. The 10 large examples are all embossed with a variety of designs. All are perforated for attachments and are mounted on black cloth for easy framing. Very rare to find a large set!
