Description
Lokris, Lokri Opuntii. Ca. 370-360 B.C. AR stater (22 mm, 11.65 g, 3 h). reathed head of Persephone left, wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace / ΟΠΟΝ-ΤΙΩΝ, Ajax, nude but for crested Corinthian helmet, advancing right on rocks, holding sword and shield decorated with serpent; shield between legs. Humphris & Delbridge grp. 4, 34 (O1/R10); BCD Lokris 15; SNG Copenhagen 47. Attractive old collection toning, small flaw on Persephone's cheek. Very fine.
