Domitian. A.D. 81-96. AR denarius (20 mm, 3.64 g, 6 h). Rome, September-December A.D. 86. IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM P M TR P VI, laureate head of Domitian right / IMP XIIII COS XII CENS P P P, Minerva standing right atop Ionic column, holding shield and wielding javelin; at her feet to right, owl standing left, head facing. RIC 456; BN -; BMC 98; RSC 210b. A hint of tone in the fields, with underlying luster presetn. Nearly extremely fine.
