SASANIAN KINGS. Ardashir I. 224-241 AD. AR Drachm (3.48 gm; 25 mm). Ardashir’s portrait turning right with Parthian crown, reverse, stand alone fire altar. Sunrise 698. Some minor copper deposit. Lovely strike on a nice broad medallic flan. Choice Superb. Very rare. One of the best examples we have seen in years.
