SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram (Varhran) II (276-293 AD). Silver Drachm (4.20 gm; 26 mm). Obverse, Bahram II with standard winged crown and Crown Prince with Grifin also known as Homaa crown, reverese; fire altar with attendants, left attendant with Bahram II crown and right attendant with Shapur I crown, triple of dots on the right side of the flames. Three dots typically is associated with either 3 columns of Zoroastrian religion, Good deeds, Good Thoughts and Good words as well as birth of a child (the 3 being father, mother and child). There are many other associations in number three in many religions and school of thoughts, one being "Past, Present, Future" and in Christianity, "The Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost" In addition the dots symbolizes drop of water which relates to the "Rites of Goddess Anahit".
