Obverse: Confronting busts of Gordian and Serapis, who wears modius on his head
Reverse: City gate with two towers and large door.

Attribution: Moushmov 792, Plate VII 20

Grade: Very Fine

Weight: 10.18 grs.

Measure: 27.12 mm.

Notes:
The E on the reverse is the denomination mark which is regularly seen on coins with dual portraits. Issued before Gordian III"s marriage, the god Serapis is "filling in" where a family member would usually be portrayed. Ex Ray Wilk architectural collection.
