Description
KUSHANO-SASANIAN. Hormizd I-Kushanshah, (circa 265-295 AD). Æ (2.40 gm; 16 mm). Obverse, bust turning right with lion headed crown and glob on the top, Pahlavi phrase starting at 3 oclock and counterclockwise, Awhrmyzdy mlka and crescent symbol behind the head, Reverse; seated diety with Xvarrah symbol about to be handed to Hormizd on the right with Hormizd I on the left raising hand as sign of acceptance to receive the diety. ANS 2222, typically extremely rare with additional symbols such as crescent. Choice VF / Good VF. Nice original find patina.
