Description
HUNNIC TRIBES, Western Turks. Tegin, circa 680-700. Æ Unit (2.32 gm; 29 mm). Sunrise 1038. Bust of Tegin slightly to the right, wearing winged crown surmounted by double crescent; legend and letters to the right, letters deteriorated but more than likely similar to silver issues of ßayo ('His Perfection, Tegin, King' in Bactrian). rev, deteriorated, only what seems to be a fire altar is visible. Nice original brown reddish patina. Choice EF. Extremely rare.
