Ionia, Ephesus. Valerian I. A.D. 253-260. ® (27 mm, 8.23 g, 6 h). AVT K ΠO ΛIKIN BAΛEPIANOC, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian I right / EΦECIΩN Γ N-EΩKOPΩN, Leto running right, head turned to left, holding her children (Apollo and Artemis) in each arm. SNG von Aulock 1921 (same dies); SNG Copenhagen 500 (same dies). Nearly VF, green patina with light deposits, ancient scratch on obverse.

The same obverse die was also used with four other reverse types labeled 'third neocorate', a fifth type labeled 'fourth neocorate', and a sixth type not recording the neocorate (see SNG Leypold 621 and SNG Copenhagen 497-9, 503 and 506).
