Carolingian. Louis the Pious. 814-840. AR denier (20 mm, 1.54 g, 4 h). Uncertain mint, 822-840. + HLVDOVVICVS IMP, cross pattée; pellets in quarters / + XPISTIANA RELIGIO, temple façade. Morrisson and Grunthal 472; cf. MEC 1, 794 and 800 (for type). Lightly toned. Good very fine.
