Bhanumitra. A.D. 1-20. Æ 1/8 karshapana (11 mm, 1.16 g). Radiate sun on a sacred pedestal, flanked by inverted taurines / Brahmi legend Bhanumitasa, with three Panchala dynastic symbols above. MAC 4551. Rare and choice. Very fine.

In Panchala coinage, the Hindu symbol depicted on the obverse usually has a connection with the king's name on reverse.Â Here the radiate sun symbolizes the king's name Bhanu (sun).
