Description
1st century A.D. Æ unit (25 mm, 6.46 g). Deer standing right, with six-arched hill to right and auxilliary symbols above / Six-headed Karttikeya (Shadanana) standing facing with one hand on hip and the other holding a scepter, with traces of Brahmi legend Bhagavato Brahmanya-devasya around. Pieper 1117. A rare type with a deer on obverse with Karttikeya on reverse. A pleasing specimen with wonderful patina. Nearly very fine.
