Description

Kshema Gupta with Didda Rani. 950-958. Æ stater (19 mm, 6.07 g). Goddess Lakshmi seated facing, flanked by Nagari legends Di (for Didda) and Kshema / King standing sacrificing at altar, with Nagari legend Gupta at right. MNI 172. A choice specimen, boldly struck with complete legends. Very fine.

An interesting coin, with the king's name Kshema Gupta along with his queen Didda. One of the few instances in Indian numismatics when the royal couple are mentioned on their coins.
