Indo-China, Laos. Kingdom of Lan Xang. Ca. 1571-1592. AR tamlung or tiger tongue money (101 mm, >100 g). Lat currency. Wiang-jun (Vientiane). Called 'tiger tongues money' because of its long and flat tongue-like shape. MNI 3011-2; Opitz 199-200. Toned with light scratches underneath. Very fine.
