Description
A fine Lambayeque (Sican) avian vessel from Peru, c. 700 – 1300 AD. This fine blackware example is 8” high and depicts a macaw feeding on a piece of fruit or an ear of corn. The base of the spout has a band of wave designs and the flared pedestal base is decorated with incised geometric and traditional designs. Good mineral deposits and trails. Ex Sarmiento collection. Value range: $400 - $500.
