Description
A painted wood hand from a sarcophagus, 3rd Intermediate - Late Period, c. 1075 - 343 BC, clenched into a fist to hold an implement. A nice example with much yellow skin tone remaining indicating the sarcophagus was for a woman. Two dowel holes visible, one with dowel that fastened it to the rest of the lid. W: 5 ½” (13.9 cm). Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $300 - $400.
