TABERISTAN. Khurshid (Khorshid); (123-143 AH & 740-760 AD & PYE 89-109). Silver Hemidrachm (2.04 gm; 24 mm). Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter, Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 108. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur. Album 52-53. Choice AU. Lustrous.
