INDO-PARTHIANS. Tanlis Mardates and Rangodeme (Mid-late 1st century BC). AR Drachm (2.72 gm; 16 mm). Mint in Margiana or Sogdiana. Imitating countermarked drachms of Parthian king Phraates IV. Diademed bust left; behind, eagle left, crowing king with wreath; on neck, circular “countermark” of helmeted head right with dotted border / Archer seated right on throne, holding bow. Senior 199.2D; Sellwood 91.13; Shore 473; Sunrise 494. Lovely strike. Choice EF. Toned.
