Description
SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur II (309-379 AD). Silver Drachm (3.76 gm; 26 mm). Shapur's bust turning right, reverse; fire altar with attendants, Faravahar symbol on the fire altar base, more than likely originated from an Eastern Mint such as Marw or Kabul, Herat or Sakastan. Nice original find patina. Choice EF. Extremely rare style for Shapur II, similar styles have been recorded for Hormizd II as well as Narseh.
