SASANIAN KINGS. Valkash (484-488). Silver Drachm (4.06 gm; 29 mm). "AS"(Asuristan) mint. Crowned bust of Valkash turning right with shoulder flame within a standard double ring, reverse, fire altar with attendants in standard prayer type, mint abbreviation "AS"(Asuristan or Aspanvar-Ctesiphon region or Aspahan-Jay) to the right, name "Valkash" to the left, SNS Type Ib/1b; Sunrise 955var. Lovely strike on a nice flan. Good style. Choice EF. Lightly toned. Rare.
