KINGS of MACEDON. Philip II. 359-336 BC. AR Tetradrachm. Lifetime issue. ANACS-AU50. Minted at Amphipolis, ca. 356-348 BC. Laureate head right of Zeus. Reverse: Philip, wearing kausia, riding horse pacing left, his right hand raised; in lower left field, bow. Le Rider 155. ANACS-AU50. Certificate # 7141036. This early, lifetime issue commemorates Philip's successes at the Olympic Games, probably in 356 BC. Lovely style. Choice Superb "Almost as Struck". Nice old-cabinet toning.
