ROMAN EMPIRE. Philip II, as Caesar, 247-249 AD. AR Antoninianus (5.15 gm; 23 mm). Rome, AD 244-246. M IVL PHILPPVS CAES, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right / PRINCIPI IVVENT, Philip II, in military attire, standing left, holding spear and globe. RIC 218d; RSC 48. Lovely strike on a nice broad medallic flan. Choice FDC. Toned and lustrous.
