SASANIAN KINGS. Yazdgard I. AD 399-420. AR drachm (4.32 g; 27 mm). AS (Aspanvar) mint. Bust of Yazdgard I on floral ornament right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos. Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants, crescent to left of flames; “ ’s ” to right, “ yzdkr(t) “ to left, and “ l’st(y) : true ” on altar shaft. SNS type Ib1/1a; Göbl I/1; Paruck -; Sunrise –; Saeedi -. Choice AU. Fully lustrous. Lightly toned.
