KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.16 gm; 25 mm). Amphipolis mint. Struck under Philip III, circa 322-317 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle and sceptre; monogram and cornucopiae in left field. Cf. Price 108; Troxell, Macedon, group G1, 57; Müller 369. Intersting style. Well struck on a nice compact flan. Nicely centered. Choice EF. Toned.
