Description
Iron Knife. Northern Europe, 700-1100 AD. Iron scramasax style utility knife with angled back, straight single edge and long tang with flared end. A wood grip would be fitted over the tang to make the handle. 8” overall. Minor pitting, but choice for early ironwork. Stabilized brown patina. The famous knife of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.
