Britain, Gallo-Belgic imports. Morini. Ca. 60-30/25 B.C. AV 1/4 stater (11 mm, 1.42 g, 5 h). Boat Tree type. Boat with two masts or stylized standing figures / Tree-like object above curved line. Delestrée & Tache 249; ABC 40; Van Arsdell 69-1; SCBC 10. Choice very fine.

The Morini were a sea peoples living on the coastal plain between Bruges (Belgium) in the north and Étaples (France) in the south. There are several varieties of these gold quarter staters, often referred as Boat Tree issues, although the precise identity of the types is unclear.
