Britain, East Anglian Region. Iceni. Ecen. Ca. A.D. 10-43(?). AR 1/2 unit (13 mm, 0.98 g). Ecen Stepping Horse type. Double crescent emblem on vertical wreath / ECE below, horse with solid head and grain ear mane stepping right; above, pelletal sun; on shulder, leaves; below head, S. ABC 1660; Van Arsdell 760; BMC 4348-430; SCBC 445. Toned. Good very fine.

The the previous lot, this coin of Ecen(os or omaros?) employes the double crescent and grain ear motif of the Catuvellauni for its obverse type and the ubiquitous Icenian horse on the reverse, both of which were to become standard tribal emblems of the Iceni.
