Glass Face Bead. Buddhist Central Asia, Early Islamic Period, 900-1100 AD. Dark blue glass bead with four faces and wound-glass waves, made using the wound glass method over a wire mesh armature. 30 mm. A few minor chips. Very rare. Christie’s has sold smaller examples for $5000+.
