KINGS of PERSIS. Ardaxsir (Artaxerxes) II. 1st century BC. AR drachm (3.56 gm; 21 mm). Type 1d. Large bust left, with short beard, wearing diadem with four ties, torque with four segments, and mural crown; a behind / Ardaxsir standing left, holding scepter and sacrificing before altar to left. K&M 4/10; Alram 570; Tyler-Smith -; Sunrise 598var.(Extra cresent and star above monogram). Well struck on a nice broad flan. Small flan flaw on the obverse, sign of double striking or re-striking on the reverse. Choice aEF. Lightly toned. Rare.
