Description
ROMAN EMPIRE. Ca. 1st-2nd. Century AD. Bronze Phalera (130.28 gm; 90mm x 45 mm). Most likely a clothing / leather uniform centerpiece of a high-ranking officer. The large 4 pins on the back, on each side would go through a soft cloth or leather and hold the Phalera disk in place. Extremely high relief lion face with silver eyes. Wonderful original green patina. Excellent condition. Rare this nice.
