ROMAN EMPIRE. Bronze Oil Lamp. Ca. 1st century AD. Beautiful and unique oil lamp with a pear-shaped body and a broad rounded end that tapers in and then sharply outward towards where it intersects with a smaller rounded head, depicting the head of a Roman God or Goddess on the handle, in superb condition and exceptional realistic details in the rendering of the face and hair. Weighing 463 grams and measuring 6.75” x 4” x 3”.
