PHOENICIA, Tyre. 107/6 BC. Silver Tertadrachm (14.07 gm; 29 mm). Laureate head of Melqart facing right / Eagle standing left on a prow, palm-branch over right wing, date Bi (CY 115-114 BC) on left above a club, monogram on right, Phoenician letter between legs. BMC 96-7; Rouvier 1997. This is the Bible's famous "Thirty pieces of Silver" coin. BMC 73. Lovely style. Nicely centered. Choice EF. Toned.
