SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur II, 309-379 AD. AR Obol (0.58 gm; 13 mm). Sunrise -. Not in Sunrise. Obverse, Shapur bust turning right with fleur de lis symbol most likely a reference to flower Iris in front of face. "Flower Iris is associated with “Khordad Saal” and birth of prophet Zoroaster, abstraction of flower Iris is seen on numerous Achaemenid stone carving specially in Persepolis, reverse, fire altar with attendants. Extremely rare issue with extremely rare monogram. Well struck on a nice broad flan. Choice Good VF. Toned. Unpublished. Extremely Rare.
