SASANIAN KINGS. Shapur II, 309-379 AD. PB (Lead) Unit (3.29 gm; 17 mm). Obverse, Shapur's bust turning right with standard crown with an abstract monogram of Rabbit or Hare's head in front of face, reverse, stand alone fire altar. Extremely rare. For importance of Rabbit or Hare iconography see article by Bahram Badiyi, ONS # 217, Autumn of 2013. Nicely struck on a broad flan. Choice VF. Original find patina.
