Description

SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram (Varhran) IV, 388-399 AD. PB (Lead) Unit (3.31 gm; 16 mm). Obverse, Bahram's bust turning right, monogram of "Xwarrah" or "Farr(ah)" as a ring with flowing ribbons which is the symbol of fortune for the rightful king, in front of face, reverse, fire altar with attendants and figure in the fire altar. This symbol is well preserved in the rock carving of Teq-e Bostan showing the crowning of Ardashir II. Choice VF. Original find patina. Extremely rare.
