SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch. Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. Octassarion Æ (19.11 gm; 34 mm). Radiate head right / Tyche seated left on rocks, head facing, being crowned by Severus Alexander, who stands behind, in military dress, resting his hand on hilt of parazonium, another Tyche standing before, head right, holding rudder and cornucopia, ?-? across field, half-length figure of the river-god Orontes swimming left, SHC in exergue. McAlee 840; RPC VI Online 8075. Some pitting and scratches. Struck on a nice broad flan. Choice EF. Nice brown patina.
