PONTIC KINGDOM, Mithradates VI. 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.28 gm; 21 mm). NGC MS *(Strike 5/5; Surface 4/5). Tomis mint. Lysimachus type. Ca. 88-86 BC. Head right of the deified Alexander the Great wearing the horn of Ammon above ear / Athena Nikephoros enthroned left; mint mark on throne; beneath, trident. Cf. SNG Cop 1089; Müller 266. Lovely strike on a nice broad flan. Fully lustrous. Choice FDC.
