A fine Maya polychrome bowl from the Highlands of Guatemala, c. 400 – 700 AD. It is 6” in diameter and is decorated with two stylized spider monkeys separated by pairs of Kan crosses. A lower register consists of a series of connected diamonds painted against a vivid orange background. Strong mineral deposits and heavy root marks. Ex Kahn collection. Value range: $650 - $800
